Chaos – A selection of images from our #ThursdayTheme

This week’s #ThursdayTheme was chaos. ‘In the midst of chaos, their is also opportunity’ (Sun-Tzu) and I’m sure we have all felt slightly chaotic at one point in our lives!!!

Our #FridayFoto was this chaotic theme from Casey Barlage – well done Casey!

Here’s what Julie had to say about Casey’s image:

“I’m not sure I could love this any more. I was chatting to someone last night who was telling me they don’t like that there is so much manipulation of photos these days because it’s not ‘real’ and ‘honest’.

Whilst I appreciate that opinion – I certainly don’t understand it. Surely painters have been manipulating reality since time began? Photography is about so much more than just capturing what is in front of you – it’s about expressing yourself and conveying an idea or concept. And the fact that we can do all sorts of magic in photoshop these days just means we can now show so much more than what the eye could see. Which is exactly what Casey has managed to do here.

Where do I even start? The dog’s face is as good a place as any – that expression! He’s like ‘What the hell is actually going on in here??’ The up-ended toys, the crazed sword-wielder in mid-air. But it’s also the attention to detail like the open cupboard door with a hint of chaos inside and the littered floor. And of course Zen Mother escaping from it all!

All stitched together brilliantly (must have been a nightmare!) I know you said you had higher hopes for it Casey but I think its an absolute triumph. Chaos indeed – I can relate!

Thank you to everyone who took part!
