Shapes – A selection of images from our #ThursdayTheme
Last week’s #ThursdayTheme was shapes! Well, we all come in different shapes and sizes and so did your images – they were fantastic!
Our #FridayFoto is this bird’s eye view of Ashka Cieslak Huff’s ratchet socket drawer!
Here’s what Julie had to say about Ashka’s image:
“This stood out a clear mile on my timeline – I absolutely love it! And how perfect for the theme.
There is such randomness to the shapes and sizes of the sockets but then there is a certain order and uniformity to the way they are arranged. I don’t know why I like that – but I do!
The conversion is perfect. There is a real silveriness to your edit Ashka and you’ve managed to convey all the glints in the metal without overexposing the highlights.
Who would have thought a bunch of sockets could be so mesmerising? Beauty in the mundane is not something I am great at ‘seeing’ so I truly admire those who manage to capture images like this for the rest of us to enjoy (and wish we’d taken).

Cold Photography – A selection of images from our #ThursdayTheme
Last week’s #ThursdayTheme was ‘Cold’ photography. Jack Frost has been out to play in Scotland today so it is certainly cold. It is so great seeing everyone’s interpretation of our weekly themes.
Our #FridayFoto this week was captured by one of our most active and supportive members, Janis Hedley.
Here’s what Julie had to say about Janis’s image:
“Janis is forever encouraging everyone else whilst also sharing her incredibly impressive progress with us all. I was so delighted to see that this was yours Janis. It’s an absolute beauty.
That cloud of breath – how perfect for the theme! I am absolutely sure I know exactly how it felt to be standing in the field that morning. I love that you captured the breath within the dark part of your background so we could get the full effect.
There is such skilful use of light here – exposing for the highlights to get that awesome rim light around the pony and in his mane. This is such a great example of what you can achieve by positioning yourself and your subject well in natural sunlight.
What a fabulous shot. Just oozing with atmosphere and class. Thank you so much for sharing it with us Janis and for all of your input here in TBT. We love you!”

Music – A selection of images from #ThursdayTheme
Last week’s #ThursdayTheme was ‘Music’ and we obviously have a lot of musical tog’s and families out there. Check out some of our musical images!
Our #FridayFoto was this beautiful image by Alison Stewart capturing three generations of one family playing the piano – amazing!
Here’s what Julie had to say about Alison’s image:
“What a touching image Alison. For me this photograph is more about the human connection than anything else – seeing three generations all engaged in music in such an informal, affectionate way.
I love the pencil and music sheets just lying around on the piano. It’s so perfectly imperfect if you know what I mean? Fantastic perspective to take this from too. I hope you were on a staircase and not swinging from a light?
